Tracey will have the pleasure to once again to present at the Annual COPAA conference on March 11, 2016 on How to Cross Examine aWitness in a Special Education litigation. More frequently, special education cases are being litigated at a sophisticated level requiring expert testimony on both sides. Tracey has had experience litigation hundreds of special education cases and brings her wealth of knowledge on the topic to COPAA.

COPAA’s mission is to protect and enforce the legal and civil rights of students with disabilities and their families.  Our primary goal is to secure high quality educational services and to promote excellence in advocacy. Title:

Cross-Examination of Experts: Principles for selection, preparation and cross examination of experts for Due Process and other proceedings. 

Description:

Session focuses on selection of experts; legal requirements for their use; structuring a cross, based on materials provided, actual experience in cross and a demonstration of direct and cross by experienced attorneys. The main focus of the training is cross examination by each participant. Participants will be guided through the preparation process by the section leaders and given individual critiques. Each participant will have at least two opportunities to cross examine the expert.
